these days
Evie is quickly transitioning to toddlerhood. Don't get me wrong, she is still my baby and always will be, but she is outgrowing her 'babyness' a little more every day. She will happily walk to me when I set her down a few paces away from me, though she is still not walking much more than that yet. I suppose crawling is still easier and much more efficient at this point. She has a great handle on her signs now and uses 'drink', 'all done', 'more', and 'please' regularly. We're still working on 'eat' and 'thank you'. They come. She understands a lot of what we say now. Just the other day I asked her if she could get her bear blankie and she crawled right over to the ottoman, pulled herself up, and grabbed it from the top. Her favorite activities right now are playing with Adelle (we call her 'Destructo' because she LOVES tearing apart anything Adelle has built with her mega bloks), watching her Baby Einstein videos with her sister, and reading books. However, by a mile, her favorite thing to do these days is to put toys into boxes, purses, bins, etc. She will happily empty the container first so there is room to put things she would like in there, if need be. She spend a solid ten minutes this morning putting her toys into my mom's purse. She would get all excited and when she was done, she would just look at me and chirp until I retrieved them from the purse for her to throw back in. She also likes to crawl around with a toy hanging out of her mouth. Did she see the dogs do this? WHo knows. But she thinks it's funny. She'll stop right in front of you, sit up with the toy in her mouth, and smile with her eyes as if you ay, "You KNOW I'm funny. Just laugh already so I can be on my way". It works every time.
Oh, and I SWEAR she said 'hi' while talking on her play phone yesterday.
