I love tomatoes. Just a fun little fact about me in case you didn't know. If Mommy is ever cutting one while she's cooking, I'll go beg for some. She's always nice and shares. Tonight I think I ate about half a tomato from the salsa Mommy made. Mmmmmm tomatoes!!!!Thursday, 08 November 2007
I'm sick.
Sniff. Achoo! Just a cold, but still... it's no fun. I'm not sleeping very good either. I think I'll see if Mommy will just snuggle on the couch with me today and watch movies.Friday, 09 November 2007
Still sick.
And now Mommy is, too. Daddy's out of town until late tonight, so Mommy set up a slumber party day for us today! Fun! Hey, if you have to be sick, you might as well use it as an excuse for special treats. Mommy pulled out the sofa bed in the livingroom and we're sitting in our jammies all day and watching whatever videos I want to (The Tigger Movie, Cinderella, and part of Nemo so far). She keeps putting this baby vapo rub stuff on my chest (which smells nice. I like it.) and letting me drink juice, too. Too bad I feel yucky. It's kind of spoiling all this fun!Daddy will be around tomorrow to take care of his girls (I miss him). I have a feeling that might involve a trip to Cold Stone to get ice cream for two girls with sore throats. Just a guess, though.

Hi Baby!
I went with Mommy and Daddy to the midwife appointment this morning. I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. When I did, I shouted, "Hi Baby!". I could hear it, so maybe it could hear me. I think I'm starting to understand this whole baby in Mommy's belly thing, but not totally yet.I have been telling Mommy off and on when I have to pee pee now (I refuse to poop in my diaper), so we went and picked out some big girl underwear today - sparkly Disney Princess - awesome! I think I might get to wear them soon. Mommy's going to see what happens on Saturday and we'll go from there. If I'm not as ready as she thinks, we'll try again another time. I'll keep you posted. I really do want to wear those underwear, though!
Mommy and I are both feeling better, though we're a little snotty still. Daddy said this morning that his throat hurts. Uh oh.

Yesterday Mommy gave my hair a little trim. My very first haircut! Really, she just trimmed off the scraggly edges, but still. It's a big deal. You can't really tell that much, but I think it looks cute. I'll have Mommy take a picture soon to put up. If it ever needs more than a touch up, rest assured that Mommy won't inflict a bad haircut on me, but will take me to have a professional get it done. No bad home haircuts for me. Thanks, Mommy!Last night we went to Chick-Fil-A for dinner. I really love that place. Mommy and I shared chicken strips, fries, and diet lemonade (my favorite!). You all know how sensitive I can be, especially when it comes to other children crying. Mommy and Daddy keep trying to tell me that when baby cries, that is just their way of talking. So last night at dinner, a baby started crying. I started to get a bit upset by this and then Mommy and Daddy reminded me that they are just talking. So then Mommy asked me, "Adelle, what do you think that baby is saying?" to which I responded (after moment of reflection), "WAHHH!". I'm not sure why, but Mommy and Daddy thought this was super funny. I like it when they think I'm funny, so I took no offense. Maybe they were looking for a less literal translation?
Mommy started a new blog for Baby. You can check it out here - www.xanga.com/babygarrett2

Potty Day One
Well, yesterday I got to wear my big girl underwear all day long. It was so fun to pick them out! I did have a few accidents, which is to be expected. But by the end of the day, I would tell Mommy when I was peeing on the potty (I like to just sit on it and read or play). Big step! I can now tell when I am going pee pee. So today I am home with Daddy all day. More progress will be made I'm sure. So far, this is a fun thing for me and as long as that continues, Mommy says we'll keep at it.Sunday, 25 November 2007
Potty Time and Turkey Day
So potty training is progressing. We've gone back to diapers because I just didn't get that there was a difference between those and underwear... well except for the cool pictures on the underwear. I am making great progress, though. I had several dry diapers yesterday and told Mommy twice that I had to go pee pee (with a dry diaper!). It won't be long before I'm in those big girl underwear!Thanksgiving was fun. Nana and Gramps came for the weekend. It's always fun to have grandparents come play. I thought the meal was okay, but I really liked the cranberries Mary brought over. Well, that and pecan pie.
We put up the Christmas decorations on Friday. I LOVE it all! I got to help put the ornaments on the tree. My favorite one is a new Curious George ornament. I do love my George! We also have this cool Mickey Mouse thing that sing songs and little characters pop out. It's hard to describe. Mommy got some video of me signing and dancing to it. I'll see if she'll put it up here soon.
Here are some pictures from the weekend. More are up on my album site.
Me and Nana and Gramps

I don't see what's wrong with a finger in the nose, personally.

Christmas lights are the coolest things ever! I was supposed to be helping Daddy untangle them, but found more joy in wearing them.

wah wah wah
As promised, here's the video of me 'singing' and dancing to my cool Mickey Christmas toy thing. AWESOME!Keep in mind that I started this singing and dancing completely spontaneously without any prompting. This is pure joy right here, folks!
