We had a great time in Virginia for the 4th! Adelle really loved being outside so much. She's quite the nature lover and was really interested in the grass.
In other, not so fun news.... Adelle is teething (already!!!). I had teeth at three months so I guess I shouldn't be shocked, but I am a little. Jamie and I noticed she's been acting strange lately and drooling a ton. We looked in her mouth and sure enough there are two little dots right smack dab in the middle of her bottom gum. It's got to be teeth I think. She's been just pitiful the last few days. Let's hope they cut through quickly because they are making her just miserable. Poor thing.

Just a quick update to let you know we put up more pictures online here.Sunday, 09 July 2006
Adelle rolled over last night! Jamie and I were so surprised. She had never even tried to do it before. Jamie was about to change her diaper on the floor and she just flipped herself over on her stomach. She hates being on her stomach, so naturally she started to cry, but she just did it over and over again! Go Adelle! Her teeth are still killing her. Hopefully they'll cut through soon.

Three months old today... I can hardly believe it!Someone told me when Adelle was first born that the first three months are the hardest. I don't know if that's true yet because she is just now three months, but she is definitely easier these days. Maybe it's because she has outgrown her gas problems, or because she is so much more developed and interactive now. Or maybe it is just because I have really grown in confidence in my ability to care for her.
Yesterday I started trying to implement more structured nap times and these naps are going to take place in her crib (not her swing or mommy's arms all the time). To say that she wasn't thrilled is a huge understatement. She was flat out mad. Sigh. She'll get used to it. But's it's not going to be fun for either of us for awhile.
We started looking at houses this week. We looked at one yesterday (no way) and are planning to see 3 or 4 more with the realtor on Friday.

New pictures!!!!Friday, 14 July 2006
Adelle loves her monkeys (well, and her feet, too). Can't you tell?
Adelle is just growing like crazy. She's really good at grabbing things these days (usually fistfuls of Mom's hair) and she makes the funniest razzing noises. She just cracks me up.
In somewhat unrelated news, we are planning to buy a house. This is a huge, scary step for us, but we just feel right about it. We actually found a great place just today and are going to make an offer in the morning. Lots to pray for! If you want to see the house, drop me an email and I'll send you a link.

Adelle got her ears pierced today!!! It looks so cute. She did so well, too. After seeing how she handled getting her shots, I was nervous, but she cried for maybe 5 seconds and then was fine. Yay!!! I'll take pictures soon.Tuesday, 18 July 2006

We have a house!!! Jamie and I went to look at it yesterday. It's soooo cute! We loved it right away and knew it was the right house for us. While we were there, another realtor was showing the house to another lady who was interested, too. So, we went straight to our realtor's office and put in an offer. We found out last night that it was accepted and the sellers' realtor at their place right now for them to sign the agreement papers! The house was only on the market for 17 days, so they don't have another place yet. So, our closing date is set for October 20 so they have time to find a new home, but it could be moved up if they find something soon. We're sooo excited! Here's the little description that the realtor wrote for the house:FABULOUS & spacious twin with architectural character and desirable updates! This wonderful home has so many great features - including: Updated eat-in Kitchen with ceramic tile floor, refinished HW floors on 1st and 2nd, high ceilings, finished basement w/powder room, replacement windows, newer roof/gutters, delightful covered front porch, rear patio overlooking glorious gardens, 1-c detached garage w/remote entry, mud room off kitchen, walk-up attic for abundant storage +++ This terrific home shows beautifully and will not disappoint! Conveniently located with quick and easy access to shopping, transportation, schools and major arteries. A WINNER - just waiting for a fortunate new owner to move in and enjoy!
Well, we are the fortunate new owners!!!

The one room that isn't pictured is my very favorite. It's the nursery. The people who own the house now have a baby girl, too and the nursery is soooo beautiful! It's a lovely green color with flowery vines painted around the windows and doors and a beuatiful Peter Rabbit looking little mural on the wall. So pretty!
Well, as you can tell, we're excited. We'll keep you all posted!

The house buying process is coming along well. We had the inspection yesterday and it was great! I think the only thing they are asking them to fix is an outlet in the garage that doesn't work.I had my first Pampered Chef show last night. It went really well. I think this will be a good busness for me. I am also launching a line of handcrafted baby goods called Sugar Sugar. I'm working on the website now and will put up a link once it's up and running. Yay!
Adelle is developing like crazy. She has definitely figured out that she has hands and feet. She has just gotten the fact that she can control her hands in the past few days and is busy trying to grab her toys. The other day I put one of her feet in her hands for her and now she stretches and bends over trying to grab one of them again. It's so cute! I'm waiting for the morning when I walk in and she's got her feet in her mouth. Ha ha ha. She can sit up well as long as she is supported now, so we're looking into getting an exersaucer for her. I think she'll have soooo much fun with one! She can practice sitting and reaching for her toys.

Adelle was in such a good mood today! She laughed sooo much all day. She has never laughed this much before. It was so fun. We even got some good laughs on video (I know you grandparents are excited about that... yes, we're hoping to get that online this week for you!). Man she's so cute!Speaking of cute, she LOVES her lovie!
