Happy New Year!Baby can definitely hear now. Our new kitty, Levi, likes to lay near my belly and purr. When he does, Baby just kicks and kicks! I think they are buddies already.

I feel like all of the sudden the birth is coming up really quickly. Only three months. Wow. We have a good recommendation of a pediatrician. I need to call them and make an appointment sometime. I also need to call the hospital and set up a tour of the birth center and ask about birth classes. I know it is still three months away, but I feel like everything has to be done now. Why do I feel this way?
In fun news, Hillary is planning to come up mid-March and throw me a shower. It will probably be my only one... so please come if you can! Ha ha ha. I know... you all live really far away. It was a joke. But you are invited!
Jamie and I are planning to go have some pictures taken today. We haven't had any nice pictures taken together since our wedding. We figure it's about time. Plus they'll be cute with me all pregnant with our first baby. Fun fun!

My doctor's appointment went really well yesterday. Baby and I are both doing great. I have to go in tomorrow for my glucose tolerance test (YUCK!) but other than that the visit was pretty routine. From now on I start going more often than once a month. Getting really close to that last trimester! While the doctor was listening to Baby's heatbeat yesterday he/she gave her a big kick! It was so funny. Baby kicked really hard right where the dopplar was and we all laughed when we saw my tummy jump.

Well, I survived the dreaded blood test. It actually was just fine. I thought they were going to have to take blood more than once during the time, but I was wrong... just one time. No problem. And I have to agree with Val - the orange soda stuff actually tasted pretty good. Scary.
I'm feeling not so cute these days in my pregnant body. I am now officially a duplex. I've gained as much weight as I want to and am pretty sure I don't want to get any bigger... can I stop now? No? Okay, well I didn't think so, but it was worth a try! Ha ha ha. Baby still has three more months of growing to do! I think by April I'll be visible from space.
He he.Okay, enough joking. Have a great weekend!

So, I figured it's time to start looking into childbirth classes. I had no idea there were so many options. It's really overwhelming! I have no idea what to do. The hospital offers a three day course, but is that enough? I don't know... I've never had a baby before! As I approach my third trimester it is occurring more and more often to me that I am going to have a baby and they are going to send this baby home with Jamie and I. Is that so scary or what? Yikes!!!
I am also feeling a real urge to get the nursery in order right this second. But that's a little hard to do with only furniture and some clothes. The urge is so strong that if we had the money I'd probably go buy everything on our registry and set up the nursery today. It's making me crazy every time I walk in there. It makes me feel like such a mess. Sigh.
I think I'm having a bit of a freak out day. Relax Jo, it'll all be okay.

Well, maybe freak-out days aren't so bad after all. I think God must use them to get me off my behind and get things done that I've been putting off! Ha ha ha. I spoke with several instructors yesterday about childbirth classes (and got some GREAT advice from a friend about them). The when I got home, I finally got into the nursery to clean and organize what we've got in there right now. It makes me feel like much less of a mess to have what little we do have put away and organized. Progress! Yay!Thursday, 12 January 2006
My due date is exactly three months from TODAY! Crazy.Jamie and I are officially signed up for childbirth classes! Yay! We start next Wednesday and will be going with the Bradley Method. I know a lot of you reading this are thinking that I probably won't be able to go through with a natural childbirth, but you know... I want to try. And the more prepared we are, the more likely we will be to succeed I think. So yay.
One thing marked off my to-do list! I love progress.

Baby is definitely getting big and boy is he/she active! Jamie and I had so much fun watching my belly move all around as Baby flipped and danced last night. It's so weird to be able to see Baby move my whole belly like that!So we bought a stroller/car seat system this weekend. We found it really, really on sale and so we went ahead and got it. Exciting stuff.
In random news, I've started a little side business. It's called Sew-Jo and I make baby snugglers (like a wearable blanket for babies). Who knows if anyone will actually want one made, but I figured why not try. You can see a picture of one I've made here
Anyway... Baby and I are tired so we're going to take a nap.

Happy third trimester to Baby and I! Today is the first day of my last trimester. So exciting! I had Jamie take a few pics this morning to celebrate. I posted one on this site for all to see, but have a couple here if you want to see more.I I got the valance that I ordered yesterday and I didn't like it. So, the baby bedding is now removed from my registry. I thought it would be bright aqua and green, but it was baby blue and light green. Just so not what I was going for. I searched all over the internet last night and I couldn't find anything I really liked, so I am just going to make them myself. If you want to help, I could use any coupons for Jo-Ann's that you won't need! Ha ha ha! It should be pretty easy. I'm planning to do it in bright aqua, green, orange, and purple. Fun fun!
Tonight is our first childbirth class. I cant wait! It'll be so much fun!

We had so much fun at our class last night! I think this is going to be so good. There are 4 other couples in the class. They are all about our age and are expecting their first babies. Fun fun.Friday, 20 January 2006
I bought the fabric for the nrusery today. It is so fun! I bought a white fabric with paisley on it in bright red, aqua, green, and yellow. Then I bought solid color fabrics to match. I think it will be really fun! I'll take a picture of it tomorrow and put it up online.I'm pretty sure Baby likes Coldplay. I was listening to their cd all afternoon in the car and everytime I did Baby would start moving around a lot. So funny!

Here's a picture of the fabrics for Baby's room. I think they are so fun. Now all I have to do is get my sewing machine repaired so I can work on it. So fun!

So, big news... we've decided to switch from our doctor to a midwife. She's been working at the hospital where we are going to have the baby for over 15 years and I think she'll be great. She will be able to be there from the moment we arrive at the hospital and will stay with us the entire time through the whole labor and delivery. This will be wonderful for us as we are hoping to have a natural childbirth. She will bring a lot to the birth and will make it much less stressful for us as we won't have to try to convince her of our wishes in this experience. Yay! For those of you who may be a little uncomfortable with this, she is partnered with a great doctor's office at the hospital who will immediately step in should complications arise (the same office who did our 20 week ultrasound). Our first appointment is Thursday! How exciting!Thursday, 26 January 2006
I LOVE our midwife! I am just so thrilled to have found her. She's a perfect match for us and I feel much more comfortable and confident about our birth with her in the picture. The appointment was fun. She felt Baby's back, head, and bottom... she even brought Jamie over and let him feel Baby's bottom. It was funny! Now that I know where Baby's back is, no wonder my tummy moves around so much whenever he/she rolls around! Big fun!

Tired. I am just so tired these days. It seems like no matter how early I go to bed or how late I sleep in, it's never enough. Yawn. Our birth class was fun this week. We talked about the first stage of labor. Since then I've had lots of dreams about being in labor. It's funny.
Off to take a nap!
